After a nice run you got to think it will be hard for the Cards to keep this rolling after the losses this offseason has brought to them.

  • Warner
  • Boldin
  • Dansby
  • Rolle
That will be hard to replace! That division is wide open.

they'll definitely be relying on the running game more and the screen as well, but the losses in the defense could force them into too many situations where they can't slow it down . . . ;)

I was thinking along those same lines, Bobs, except I think with their switch to a more balanced offense, it will by default take some pressure off the defense. They still have talent there with DRC, Adrian Wilson, etc, but they have the look of a .500 team which could be worse if Leinart can't get it done. Let's see how they reload through the draft..

SF will be a heavy favorite in the West in 2010. They swept Arizona last year and could have taken the division with a break here or there. The lost to Indy, GB, Houston and the Vikings on the road, by 4 points or less. They absolutely gave away the Seattle game with bad play calling. 10 wins were easily within their reach. If they have a good draft and Smith plays solidly, they will cruise in that division.

One other thing. Another year with the same coaching staff will help them a lot. They seemed unsure what type of team they wanted to be. Another year with the same staff will put them on the same page. Also like the fact they brought in Ray Brown to help coach the OL. Definitely a Singletary type guy..........

I don't think the loss of Boldin will play as much a factor as the possible changing of the guard at QB. If Breaston can step into the #2 role and if Doucet can establish himself as a valid #3 they will still be productive in the passing game. I don't think either "IF" is that huge a leap.

hightower provides a quick outlet as well . . . leinert has the weapons to succeed . . . i'd really like to see him pull it all together this year . . . ;)

but i agree the 49ers should lead this division . . . ;)

Sad thing is that I would actually like to see Leinert do well too. As a football fan, they are a fun team to watch. Guess I can root for him to well in 14 games.............

so you're a niners fan, but you want him to do well just not in the games against us

so them going 14-2 and winning the division is fine for you

right....

Well, since the best they can hope for is 8-8 even if Leinart plays well, I'm not worried.................:dancingpa

SF wins the West...............
