The QB- less Texans have acquired QB Ryan Mallett from the New England Patriots. Details to be released soon.

The experts do not seem to be impressed in any way with one even saying it's not an upgrade at all on the position and predicting that Mallet wouldn't get any starts. But hold the horses. With former Pats OC Bill O'Brien now the head coach for the Texans I'm not so sure that the experts are "right" about this one. Bill worked with the young QB on a daily basis and now he's had the preseason with the Texans group of underperformers. After which he went out and made the long rumored trade a reality. I doubt seriously that he did so for kicks and giggles, don't you?

WOW...

Belichick should be a first ballot hall of famer. (can you induct an entire franchise?)

Just because this kid plays behind Tom Brady and under coach Beli he has immediate value and name recognition.

He's thrown 4 (count them...1,2,3,4) regular season passes and had a dismal pre-season yet he is somehow marketable in the NFL.

Oy Vey...

Didn't the Matt Cassel fiasco teach anyone ANYTHING?

Good job Coach Bill and the NE organization!

Joe Bryant says that it's an upgrade for Houston in that at least now they have a QB with potential whereas before outside of Fitz there really wasn't anything to hope for.

Who said that? Oh yeah you did. Bryant said Mallet had "potential" and inferred that no one else did while Fitz offered "something" to hope for.

Plus there's the fact that Fitz has had some good games to go with his stinkers but alas, I think his best days are done.

Fitz could be good if he had a decent team around him, but I don't see how Houston meets that criteria.

Pfft, he needs three more deals to even up to what Andy Reid pushed off when he was in Philly. Remember Kolb and a few others??
