Terrence Cody
Defensive Tackle - Alabama
- Height - 6-5
- Weight - 370
- Projected 40 Time - 5.72
- 28 Tackles
- 0 sacks
- 2 blocked FGs
NFL Impact: Cody is a MASSIVE piece of humanity. Despite seemingly low stats, Cody consistently took the attention of 2 or 3 blockers. Cody has a huge frame, can be disruptive, and moves well for his size. However, from an NFL perspective, the problems with "Mt Cody" start with his massive frame. Cody lacks lateral agility, has an up and down motor, and loses stamina late in games, sometimes badly. Cody cant rush the passer, and there are concerns about his ability to stay healthy once faced consistenly over a season with highly skilled, veteran NFL linemen.
He projects as an obvious NT at the next level, as there is no way he can play DT. The drafting team, while potentially getting an elite NT, is also getting a NT who can only play two downs. Current comparisons are to Shaun Rogers. I see Cody more as a Gilbert Brown type, who will battle weight and stamina problems his entire career.
From the Senior Bowl:
Scouts were disappointed with Terrence Cody's conditioning on the first day of practice at the Senior Bowl. The former Alabama defensive tackle tipped the scales at 370 pounds.
