Terrell Owens vs Darrelle Revis

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- Get your popcorn ready: It will be Darrelle Revis versus Terrell Owens on Thanksgiving night.

Too bad, Chad.

When the New York Jets faced the Cincinnati Bengals in back-to-back weeks last season -- the regular-season finale and the wild-card game -- Revis was assigned to Chad Ochocinco. In each case, it made for an entertaining week of trash talk and back-and-forth tweeting between the star cornerback and the loud-mouth receiver.

But on Monday, Revis announced he'll be covering Owens, who is putting up bigger numbers than Ochocinco. The Revis-Owens rivalry, well, there's history there, too.

In a TV interview last offseason, Revis used the word "slouch" when Owens' name came up in a word association. Revis also called Randy Moss a slouch in the same interview, which fueled the hype for their Week 2 showdown. That was two teams ago for Moss, who, while playing for the New England Patriots, burned Revis for a 34-yard touchdown reception. Revis pulled a hamstring on the play.

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- Darrelle Revis, an average cornerback? Terrell Owens thinks so.

Adding another layer to a rivalry that started building a year ago, Owens -- evidently stung that Revis once called him a "slouch" -- fired back Tuesday, painting the New York Jets star as a one-year wonder and media creation.

"Just an average corner to me," the Bengals wide receiver told reporters in Cincinnati. "Everybody has assessed his abilities as far as what he did last year, shutdown corner, this and that. He did very well last year. But I think I'm looking forward to the challenge, just like he's looking forward to the challenge."

Revis refused to engage in a war of words with Owens, telling ESPNNewYork.com, "I'll see him on Thursday night. ... Everybody knows T.O. He's going to be T.O."

ESPN NFL T.O. says Darrelle Revis is 'average'

I think this is going to be a very interesting battle, especially considering how NY should jump on Cincinnati pretty early.

Sounds like the battle of the big mouths, im going to side with T.O. and hope the older wiser veteran takes Revis to school.

With Shipley on that side Revis is going to have to put in a days work for sure. Im pretty confident TO will do well, but the question is can Palmer:

A. Remain standing to make a throw in the face of a fierce NYJ pash rush?
B. Throw the ball where it needs to be for TO to do his thing?

Yeah, at least it makes it somewhat interesting....from a fantasy perspective, watchout for Shipley. With the attention on the outside with the corners, Shipley on crossing routes could be in for a big day.
