Team DEF week 9

So i gotta pick one up probably tonight or tomorrow, as SF DEF is on bye. I'm still in 1st place, somehow, I have a ton of guys hurt/on byes that i feel are undroppable... and I'm playing a team that has ray rice, ryan mathews, Hou DEF, percy, julio, and antonio brown.... Basically, chances are high that I will take the loss anyway, but getting points for the inevitable coming losses may help tiebreakers later. Also, dude struggles at QB big time, and if i drop flacco this week, i will be playing against him...

So since i won't drop flacco, hernandez, MJD, shonn greene, or gostkowski, I'm lft to drop either ryan broyles, of the lions, (@JAX) who has 2 TDs in his first two weeks, or jacoby jones (@CLE), who has gotten sick two weeks in a row and returns rather well, but no idea if i can trust...

On top of this, I figure i should pick a good DEF, specially since i will be playing an empty IDP slot unless i drop one of my undroppables or go with empty TE (I may as well be doing that anyway lately) or WR... the available DEFs are

Bal @ CLE (attractive, yes, but on waivers, not sure if worth my #2 claim, to find out if they clear is tues)
Det @ JAX (not too shabby)
TB @ OAK
DEN @ CIN

There are others but they appear to be super risky... What DEF would you grab? (we get a point/50 ret yds for the team and some of the other cats are pumped up as well, so team DEF usually has some more points than conventional scoring) and who would you drop?? i was sure broyles but then I do remember having jones past years...

Flacco @ cle? definitely could be... I know tek you think the drop is flacco... but flacco for an IDP??

I am limited by a VERY shallow bench (5 bench spots when all positions are filled), injury, and byes. As I think I will likely lose anyway (even though it's the dude in 2nd) I would almost rather not play onea my IDP spots than give him flacco... let him play dalton or palmer. Often times even if you pick a good IDP, your ceiling ends up at 3-5 pts, granted, this is the league where points are extremely difficult to come by... My guy D'Qwell Jackson is out there, and he will more than likely be snatched up quick as well, people know him from last year when i killed with him all year he usually got 6+ pts... however he's been average this year other than one huge game wk 1

I think that's part of that "Chicago" thing. Thank God I moved to the deep south where we are open minded. ( except for race, religion, gender, sexual preference and gun control).

For starters, LOSE THE EXTRA KICKER....DUH. I don't care how good you think he is.

2nd... Will you EVER start Flacco?....NO!

You aren't managing your team, you're managing HIS TEAM. So worried that someone might gain a little from your drop that you cut off your nose to spite your opponent.

Get you a damned DST and IDP player and field a decent team.

....and if you don't dump Olsen and pick up Dallas Clark you're a buffoon.

haha... i liked the open... so which DEF? And i dont use my waiver to get Bal with those other options right? And IF i drop gostkowski, i dont need to drop flacco... I mean, i see that flacco is still flacco... but stafford has had one good game... also i like having the consistently good kicker - like i said, kicker, DEF, and the IDP work of McCourty, Tillman and Jackson have put me in 1st, somehow... ugh, i do need to get the DEF team done tonight though, probably dropping one WR, and will mull over the IDP vs... gost or flacco for another day or so and see how many other people think im too stubborn to drop my K or backup QB i do appreciate your responses!

Personally I would drop Flacco and Jones...for a defense and a IDP player

Here is why...Week 10 you can pick up a QB and drop a kicker and you should never have open spots on your roster

Any of those defense will suffice and no I would not put a claim in for a defense.

I was right (no surprise) Baltimore and detroit are gone, D'Qwell is gone too... the lesson here is do it early and stay up til they off waivers at 4 am

I literally won by one point... good thing i dropped flacco for morgan burnett (3.25 pts)... the real hero, though, was my boy peanut, comin through again with 13.5, and Denver DEF chippin in 19 - thanks all!!
