TE rankings

We had a thread a few weeks ago, for folks to list their top 10 or so Qbs. This was out of the discussion raised by some over value of Kaep in San Fran.

With alot of young TEs taken relatively early in this draft, I am curious what folks think for value at TE this year is.

1) Graham - he is the stud TE to have, and i know folks like Gronk, but until he can play all year, give me some Graham.
2) Gronkowski - I assume he will play this year, with no real WRs, and Hernandez in question, he could be a monster for a few games
3) Witten - all he does is produce, and will gain this year.
4) Kyle Rudolph - this seems high, but with loss of Harvin at wr, and only really gaining Jennings ,I see alot of opportunity for Rudolph.
5) Gonzales - he is back, and wants a title, the reason he drops here is due to White, J.Jones and lots of talk of passing to Jackson too.
6) Owen Daniels - he is healthy, and until the rookie shows he is a true #2 to Johnson, I will take houston's #2 wr errr..TE.
7) Brandon Myers - sleeper - he is out of Oakland, and has a real Qb to use him. If he can produce like he did in Oak, he could be great.
8) Kelce KC - first rookie in my rankings. Andy loves him some TE, and the Wr core isn't all that. I see a lot of Redzone for Kelce.
9) Heath Miller Pit - he always seems to be there, but coming off a serious injury, I see his numbers down some this year.
10) Vernon Davis - I want to move him up, but I think he blows up again this year and gets in dog house for few, but will be top 10 this year.

Honorable mentions - Eifert in Cincy - they WANT to use Te but they have depth, and young WR core, Pitta in Baltimore, they need a #2 to Torrey, and he could be it. Gates in S.D. - still has injury issues, but he will be there still for fill in help.

Anyone else?

Why do you think he will be in the dog house? He is one of the team leaders and a pretty unselfish player, especially when you consider his talent level and the fact that he stays in to block because he is so good at it. No issues since his blow up in the Singletary days which he still points to as a turning point in his career, making him a better person and teammate.

1) Graham
2) Gronk. Would be the clear #1 IMO if not for the injuries
3) Witten. Can't believe he isn't used in red zone more
4) Gonzalez. One more big year
5) Davis. With Crabtree out, he will be used more in spread formations. Could finish top 3
6) Rudolph. Ponders security blanket
7) Cook. Rams open it up and he is more of a WR type
8) Olsen. As Smith ages, Olsen gets a bigger chunk of the pie
9) Pitta. With Boldin gone, increase in targets coming his way. More coverage too though. Could end up top 5
10)Finley. He seems to be getting it now and with Jennings gone, a few more balls to go around. Huge target and talent. Get rid of the 10 cent brain and the possibilities are endless

This is assuming Hernandez doesn't play this year. If he does, put him at 4 and move everyone down a spot.

"The thing with Rudolph is the entirety of his fantasy value was related to catching a TD since he had 12 games under 50 yards and half his games did not even have 30 yards (including three different times with zero catches). He had only a 9.3 YPC and caught only 53 of his 93 targets. Frazier also said he wanted to use Rudolph less because he was on the field all the time last year and wore down. His final five games when you needed him most he had just one score and averaged just 24 yards per game with never more than 3 catches in each.

More than anything, he scares me because of Ponder. Rudolph may become a good tight end but I am less convinced it will happen with Ponder under center. He remains a red zone threat being 6-6 so that is good. But even last year when they desperately needed him to step up with Harvin out after week 8 it did not really happen. And this year they have Greg Jennings and top rookie Cordarelle Patterson to catch passes. Last year it was down to only Jarius Wright, Michael Jenkins and Jerome Simpson for the second half of the year. Rudolph had more passes thrown to him than any receiver for MIN. Will that happen again with two new promising WR?"

Move Rudolph down.
Move Pitta up.
Davis has been working out as a WR - move him up too (about right on efactor's list).

Sleeper: Jordan Cameron. We all know what Norv Turner did the last time he robbed a TE from the college basketball ranks...

Is it crazy of me to think that Martellus Bennett could be a top 10 TE that really shocks people this year?

His situation is about as nice as it has been in his career. In Dallas he was stuck behind one of the best TEs in the game. In NY he become option #233 behind all those WRs that Eli loves to force the ball to. Now that in Chicago I feel like he'll actually be able to shine. Sure, Marshall will get his, but after Brandon, there isn't much else in that passing game.
