Lewis has agreed to a five-year deal with the Jaguars, Jacksonville.com reports. Lewis was tagged as the Jaguars' franchise player, but they were able to work out a long-term deal to make both sides happy.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed TE Marcedes Lewis to a five-year $35 million contract extension with nearly $17 million guaranteed. Is it just me or does a lot of these long term extensions seem to be of a 50/50 design. Nice money up front for the player and the cap split nice and evenly over the term of the contract being very cap friendly to boot.
