I would definitely agree with you a few years ago but not sure the Alge now is though.

It is puzzling to me also. They sort of let all their TEs go. You could make an agruement that Watson could have been better then Crump if they had kept him. Right now Crumpler fills a gap and staves off expending a valuable higher pick being spent on a TE in the draft. The Pats O used to use TEs as an important part of the offense a few years ago but has drifted away from that in recent years.

In terms of reality i see this as a non-issue as well
The Pats need to address the fact that the running game is a non-factor and need to draft or get a quality RB from FA wire

What ever happened to the TE that was giving Watson a run for his oney in training camp and pre season last year?

That was him, Baker. So they decided to go with a relic, huh. They need another TE.

They need to draft a TE for sure. I was a little surprised that they dropped both Watson and Baker. Crumpler is a stopgap at this point, have a TE in camp to practice and learn the O. The Pats need to draft a pass rusher high and probably TE high but this makes for a little more flexibility in the draft. Also the Pats sometimes do this sort of drop everybody early and let them see how lucky they were to have a job. Don't be surprised if just before real training camp either Watson or Davis is re-signed.

Didn't Baker sign with Seattle and Watson with Cleveland?

Pretty sharp CC, You are right, they were both scooped up already. I didn't even check I just knew off the top of my head they were cut and rambled on from there. :runaround:
