Tampa Bay...Watch And See

Not recommending a mad dash to the waiver wire or anything but watch TB over the next few weeks.

They've been DREADFUL the first three weeks and still have some serious injury issues on defense, but you guys who are worried that Martin, VJax, Evans aren't living up to expectations should be patient.

One good thing came out of the Atlanta fiasco for TB....Josh McClown hurt his throwing hand.

Enter Mike Glennon.

I've preached on this before so my opinion shouldn't surprise anyone. Glennon is going to light a fire under this offense. Wait and see.

The down side to Glennon's anointment is Lovie Smith. I don't know if he is just in love with McClown or if he has something against Glennon but he's ALREADY been quoted as Saying that McClown is still the starter. Tampa could win 3 straight by 40 pts and when Josh got healthy ....he'd be the starter.

Again...nothing worth juggling your roster over but a buy low on Vjax wouldn't be a bad idea. (or a sell high in 3 weeks). Running game will improve also but a lot of grey surrounding that back field.

A situation worth watching.

Been saying the same thing on Glennon for months. I think Lovie and Josh have some suicide pact together. They're going down as a pair.

How about this guy?

I'm sorry to belabor the point, but this just GALLS me.

Poor Kid :(

Glennon's career is being undone by the ego of others. First is Schiano. Been tutoring the kid since he was in high school and finally pushed him into a situation that he wasn't ready for. Then there is Lovie Smith. The kid did pretty decent when thrown to the wolves by Schiano then Lovie comes in, picks up a 34 year old career back up QB and announces "McCown Is Our Starter"....before he ever took a snap.

Schiano's ego was intent on making him a star....Lovie's ego is intent on making him a failure. (or making McCown a star...not sure of his motives).

The kid is 24 yrs old and having to deal with this stuff.

I guess we'll see what Glennon is made of because McCown is being rushed back from his injury and Lovie reminds us daily that McCown is the starter.

Even if Glennon plays like a superstar and brings the Buc's their first win, McCown will be under center the next week.

I say we make McCown the coach and Glennon the QB. Then Schiano and Lovie could BOTH be proud. (and unemployed).

Preach on it brother. Preach!

I'm totally with you. McClown only looked good for a stretch in a QB friendly system while being aided by arguably the best offensive weapons on any NFL team. Lovie needs to swallow his pride, admit he was wrong, and let the kid play.

Similar situation is going to play out in Washington in a few weeks...

Another idiotic head coach-starting QB marriage : Rex and Geno.

Fans are screaming for Vick. Why not play him?? You'll make the people happy, get a few extra wins, and then Vick will get hurt and you can go back to Geno.

At his presser today Lovie Smith wouldn't commit to Josh McCown as the starter when he gets healthy. Sounds like Lovie isn't ready to be unemployed yet.

because their season is trashed. Issue is not just at Qb but lack of talent on off side, and def sucks right now. Moving to Vick does no good. Play Geno and finally see if he can improve or if you go Qb early next year in draft.

I think it does some good. It gets the fans off your back for 1. You don't have offensive weapons, might as well roll Vick out there and see if he looks as bad as Geno. If he does, you know it's not all Genos fault. If Vick can make it work with these weapons, then it's confirmed that Geno blows.

Plus, it might actually save Genos confidence. There's no boost in getting killed statistically and by the media week in and week out.
