rotoworld,
The first forecast for Super Bowl Sunday has been released, and it's currently calling for a high of 35 degrees and a 30 percent chance of snow.

According to Weather.com, snow showers are possible and temperatures will range from 25 to 35 degrees. The Broncos and Seahawks will kick off at 6:30 PM ET, so they'd likely be playing in temperatures in the 20s. Wind isn't expected to be a factor; it's projected to be blowing around 8 MPH. Of course, we're ten days away from the big game, which leaves plenty of time for change. The NFL has previously said that if a winter storm is expected, the game could be moved to Saturday, Monday, or Tuesday. Worst-case scenario would be for Super Bowl to be pushed back to February 9. We're not at that point.

It's the number one offense vs the number one defense. This has happened five times in super bowl history and the defense has been the winning team in 3 out of four thus far. Public money has kept the Broncos favored at most betting markets with the big $$ not expected to be laid until a day or two before the contest. The over/under number has fallen to almost historic lows for the title game and that has as much to do with weather fears as the SeaHawk defense. If the Hawks can get to Manning with their pass rush I think they'll take this game. However I don't expect them to be able to regularly apply pressure in this contest. I'm holding off on my pick until we get closer to the action.

Wind isn't expected to be a factor

If you are a Bronco fan....this is OUTSTANDING news. Many believe that Manning struggles a bit in the elements.....but I don't thik he does that bad in the cold.....it's the WIND that seems to be his greatest foe. With light winds predicted at this point that is good news for Manning and the broncs.....we will see if that stays true as we close in on the date.

It's widely said that he's lost a little velocity on his passes. If indeed this is so then the wind could cause him problems. It's not as likely to effect Wilson because his passes aren't exactly precise anyway.:)

I saw a lot of wabbling ducks by Manning vs. Patriots, a real windy game would give him fits. So if it is calm he is in a better spot.

That being said, I could see this as a very low scoring game. I don't see Denver breaking 20pts. Depends to me on if Marshawn goes beast mode or not.

The National Weather Service is calling for no rain with a high of 45 degrees and a low around 27 degrees in Rutherford, NJ on Sunday. Winds are often unpredictable inside MetLife stadium, but it doesn't look like Peyton Manning will be dealing with anything drastic. Anything more than 15 mph gusts would be a surprise.

I have the Seahawks winning this one. Their D should be able to keep Peyton and co. somewhat contained and Seattle's O will score enough points to pull it off. I have never looked forward to watching a Super Bowl more than I have this one... should be a good one!

I keep getting this "sense" (weaker than a gut feeling but stronger than a hunch) that Denver will win. To be literal, the sense is "They will not lose". Not sure if that makes a difference.

I'd like to see Seattle win. Always been a fan of "Defense wins games", but if I'm risking money I go with Denver and give the points.

Denver wins. Manning will stay with a lot of short throws (8 to 15 yards) and short third and one or two yards. Easy conversions.

Play keep away from Wilson and Lynch.

I'm going Broncos but it'll be close. They caught a break with the weather and that's all the help they needed.

Answering Sherman's criticism of his passes Peyton Manning admitted on Thursday he throws "ducks."

"I do throw ducks," Manning said. "I throw a lot of yards and touchdowns-ducks, so I'm actually quite proud of it."

Here are some of the things I'm wondering about this game. Seahawks are my 2nd favorite team and are considered the local team here so I see them and follow a lot more local team news than GB

Manning has had the quickest release in the NFL at something like 2.5 seconds/pass. Will Seattles press from the CBs delay that by any amount of time. If it takes Den WRs an extra sec or so to get open how will that impact Dens Oline. Manning was least sacked in the NFL, but if you add 1 sec avg to his release I can see that going up. It would be interesting to know how the release times of the QBs Seattle has played has been affected. Was their release time increased against Seahawks versus rest of season ??

I think the Seattle special teams make the difference giving the Hawks a field position advantage. Look for 5/6 FGs overall and I think Seattle win by 3 to 6 points

If Wilson plays like he played the first time the Hawks and Saints met this year Seattle wins. If he plays like he's played most of the last six weeks I lean Denver, The Saints were the leagues best at 3rd down conversions this year, not so good at all against the SeaHawks. The first time we met Seattle put the worst butt whooping on us that we've suffered in years the second matchup not so much. What about the 12th Man? Who will the crowd in New Jersey favor? When the Saints won our super bowl in S. Florida vs Manning and the Colts the fans there were heavily on the Saint's side. Sunday, who knows. I have a sneaking feeling they'll lean towards the seaHawks in effect providing them with a bit of a "home field" advantage.

Manning is such a fan favorite, I can see most of the neutral fans going towards Denver, so I can't see this really being a Seattle "crowd".

I can't wait to see how the Denver WR's match up against the DB's. AD makes a good point about the release time. Pressing the WR's will be a must, but that is going to come with risk as well.....and I think Manning will find the hole to exploit. Just too many weapons to go to.

On the other side, can Denver slow down the running game and put this game on Wilson's arm? If they can, I think they win.

My guess is we have a great game here and Denver holds on in the end.

Denver 27
Seattle 23

I knew you liked GB as well, but always thought Seattle was your #1......learn something new everyday!

Pioria just went on about the refs calling Holdings on lineman. That looks to be in Sea's favor
