Steelers could release Sweed

(KFFL) ESPN.com reports the Pittsburgh Steelers could release WR Limas Sweed after the team signed WRs Arnaz Battle and Antwaan Randle El.
 
Sweed could be a decent pick-up for somebody.

I don't feel like he ever really got a chance in Pittsburgh.
 
He could go muck around with a team like the Titans for a couple of years.

Go hang out with the Rams for awhile.
 
I don't know. Most of what I read was he didn't earn playing. He was lazy in practice and didn't learn the play book. Its been a while though..but I do remember some of that. Not sure him going elsewhere will solve that.

I heard some of that also. Maybe Wes and Rammy will come along with some inside insight.
 
Sweed was a piece of crap. His lack of work ethic (according to Hines) coupled with his drops in crucial situations sealed the deal. Add to that the Steelers signed Antwaan Randle El (again) and Arnaz Battle and Sweed should be shown the door.

In all fairness, he had some moments. The Ravens game in 2008 when he demolished Ivy came to mind immediately. I was ultra-excited when he got drafted because it was basically in response to Ben asking for a bigger target, and he was awesome at Texas. He had some nagging injury issues his senior year that dropped his draft stock so they got him at a nice spot, but like Ram mentioned, the light bulb just flickered instead of staying on.
He's got the talent base to really help someone if he ever reverses his cranial-rectal insertion.

I am a L.Sweed fan and could be a good WR giving a chance with a fresh start on another team

As far as A.Randel-El and A.Battle dont see an upside to either of these WR

I agree 100% and that thought should tell you everything you need to know about Sweed's Steeler career. Drops will get you canned.....see Nate Washington for recent proof.
