Stafford Hurt More Than His Shoulder

2 #1 QBs went down in week one. Kolb was quickly replaced by Vick, who managed to keep his teammates fantasy relevant.

Stafford went down and with him he pulled down the value of every pertinent offensive player on the team.

Calvin Johnson, Jahvid Best, Nate Burleson and (to a lesser extent) Tony Scheffler are all on fantasy rosters across the nation. The prospect of these players being fed their statistical mana from Shaun Hill is unappetizing, to say the least.

The Lions are a poor team but a good draft and high upside make an unusual number of their players look attractive on your fantasy roster. The 4 players listed above are on most fantasy rosters whereas teams like the Browns, Bills, Chiefs and Rams offer up 2 or 3 at best.

Without Stafford, only Johnson and Best would be on most rosters and even their value would go down.

Stafford hurt a lot more than his shoulder because there was a lot more on his shoulders than just pads.

How has this injury affected your line-up and if this injury were to end Stafford's season, would you lose hope for any of your Detroit players?

Megatron looked pretty good with Hill at the helm... much like he did in 08' with the sub-par QB rotation that existed in Detroit when he posted big #'s. As long as he's healthy... not to worried about him.

the Lions IOP's are probably a better option now.

the Eagles IOP's are probably worse. I'm trying to remember the last time anyone thrived in a fantasy format with Vick at the helm

I have Megatron in one league and is starting as usual, S.Hill will hold down the fort until Stafford gets back on his feet

Best is a dynamic player. As long as the Lions use him to his strengths, he should be fine. They need to run him to the outside and swing screens out to him as well. If Best gets into space, he can make plays.
