If they relocated to Canada wouldn't that mean everyone would need a passport to play there or a work visa?

Also..now this is in wrestling but I know of wrestlers who have criminal records and are not allowed to enter Canada by the government. Would that not create the same problem for NFL players ala Aldon Smith or any other player with a record?

The answer is yes, and yes.

but the league handles all the visa stuff and such. They have done it already for the few games Buffalo plays now in Canada.

However, by all reports new ownership will have to commit to staying in Buffalo.
