Slaton safe?

So with the last preseason game, they seemed to stick with Slaton...even when they reached the red zone. The only time Chris Brown came in was when Slaton was done. Is this a sign of things to come and should this impact Slaton's draft position? After seeing this, I would think again about possibly taking him at 6. What does everyone else think of this Houston RB situation?

I still like Slaton. It seems that Brown might not be taking the goal line carries. Slaton bulked up this year so he would be a more powerful runner, which equates to more goal line opportunities. And if Brown takes some reps from Slaton, it's only a matter of time before Brown goes down with another injury. So I would consider Slaton a safe bet.

$5.99 boneless wings day at Hooter's every Wednesday, Nationally. Just saw the commercial, looked very enticing so thought I would share with everyone. Anyways, back to the Slaton talk

I will forever be confused by anyone worried about Chris Brown. The guy is totally useless. He will either get hurt, or do something stupid to get benched. Slaton is the last guy I am worried about as far as sharing. Brown is a waste of uniform.

yeah. Worth a pick at 6?
Depends on scoring.

In a standard league scoring, where PPR is not a factor...then Slaton probably falls some.

In a scoring league that has PPR, he is in the top 5 for Rbs for me. It is all relative to what your roster requires and your scoring.

Gary Kubiak told the media that Chris Brown will be his goal-line back this year despite the fact that Slaton has been effective in those situations this preseason.

Found this on another fantasy site. Will try to find link.

Slaton is still high in PPR, and I think Chris Brown will get injured some time during the season anyway. So I'm not too worried about Slaton.

I thought I was getting a steal, drafting Steve Slaton in two leagues mid/late 2nd round.

Looks like the joke is on me. Ugh...

Seriously?

We are talking Brown here. The eternal Hamstring or ankle guy. Really. Kid will have a leg fall off soon.

Please folks, we need to stop this panic everytime we hear a rb will get a blow sometimes. This is not Tenn, Pittsburgh in Bettis' hey day. This is Houston, and Slaton will score as many if not more Tds than Brown. You can quote me on that.

Whether he has more TDs than Brown isn't the point. The point is that it's a huge mistake now to spend a 1st round pick on this guy, and I personally regret drafting him over alternatives like Calvin Johnson etc. in round 2.

In non-ppr leagues what makes Slaton better than a 3rd or 4th round player? Shouldn't I be trying to trade him as fast as possible to correct my mistake?

:nono:
Again WHY??

Kid had 1282 yards rushing, 9 Tds rushing. Yes he also caught 50 receptions and 1 recieving Td...but he still gets points for that.

My point is folks have this kid pigeon holed like Bush. That is not the case. This kid is the starter, will get more yards and will keep the Tds.

All he supposedly loses is the short yardage runs...and the goal line carries. And that will ONLY be until Chris is hurt AGAIN.
