Sjax's Value As A Non-Ram

A deal between the Rams and Steven Jackson has been reached that will allow Jackson to void the last 2 years of his contract, making him a free agent in 2013.

Is this good news or bad for Jackson owners?

At 29 years old, he is nearing the end of his "every down back" usefulness anyway so perhaps this really a non issue but given his value up to this point it may be time to make a move on him before the talking heads over analyze the situation.

Is it time to act fast and sell high before he gets labeled a 3rd down back or is he worth hanging on to in hopes his value will actually rise with another team?

Richardson and pead are the future in St. Louis. Jackson will be a vet on a winning team like LT was for the jets. Mutual deal to help both parties.

Hes not worth anything right now anyways.

This implies that he should be on the ww in most leagues. I'm sure you didn't intend it that way, of course, but he's a soft #2 RB right now and certainly carries value to a team that drafted Shonn Greene, Beanie Wells and Chris Johnson.

The question was simply "Do you think his value is higher now than it will be next season". Not what he was worth 18 months ago.

I think I agree with one above, this allows him to shop himself next year, and maybe get to a successful team to help. Otherwise, if interest isn't there, he stays and retires a ram with a smaller deal. It actually a great move for both parties IMO.

So who may be interested? Atlanta maybe? If Turner is toast. NY Jets - clearly who they have is not the answer. Denver? to share with Hillman? Pittsburgh, to share with Mendenhall who can't stay healthy?

Just some thoughts.
