Shonn Greene...Keep Or Sell Hype?

No, that wasn't a typo.

This could very well be the last year that Greene will be blessed with pre-season hype.

In your keeper and Dynasty leagues this could be your last chance to deal him for any kind of compensation, but better hurry before the season starts.

Tomlinson killed any chance Greene had of becoming an every down back by showing what a real RB can do behind a real offensive line. The talk is still about Greene, but Toms is there for one more year and Bilal Powell will be seasoned by next year. McKnight will get a share of carries and deservedly so.

I'll likely keep Greene this year just because I can keep him cheap but I wonder how the rest of the fantasy world will deal with him.

My advice would be to see what you can get for him now...You might get a decent WR2 if you act fast.

I sold him in HG's for Witten. I think Greene will be OK, but likely will not live up to the high hype he had a year ago.

I agree, I see alot of committee rbs here. Greene's style with his brutal running mode also scares me. Call it Marion Barber part two if you will.

From all accounts, Tomlinson is ready to embrace the 3rd down role, and not take as many early down carries, but he is still there, and there is still McKnight and Powell now as well.

I'm trying to feel out deals, but my RB depth is weak so I feel like I need one in return which makes trading him tough right now. But yes, I'm on the sell committee right now which I would rather not be as he's a former Hawkeye ;-) I drafted him.

Greene's stock is too low to be selling right now IMO. I think we'll see some good numbers outta him in the beginning of the season, at that point, if you're still not sold on the guy then move him.

But I think he'll be worth more after the start of the season then he is now (4th rd adp as of this post).

I have to agree with German, no reason to be selling low. LT2 gets a hammy in camp and Greene,s stock would rise.

I guess this is where were differ. Greene being numero uno is all the buzz and I think that makes his value higher than what his actual worth will be once the season starts.

Fourth round may seem low to you now but wait until he's the short yardage back getting 6 to 8 carries a game and see what you can get for him.
