Seattle Seahawks QB Matt Hasselbeck might be in the best shape of his 12-year NFL career reports FOXSports.com.

Hasselbeck, who turns 35 in September, had a rigorous offseason training program, went on a serious diet and now ices his throwing shoulder after every practice. Taking training and how you treat you body seriously is a good sign.

Hasselbeck said he is a little annoyed everyone is treating him like he is a 40-year-old quarterback. He has missed 11 games in the past two seasons and dealt with a variety of injury problems after being abused behind a poor offensive line. Hasselbeck enters training camp as the team's unquestioned No. 1 quarterback even though the Seahawks put a decent investment into backup QB Charlie Whitehurst, who was brought over from the San Diego Chargers. Offensive coordinator Jeremy Bates said Hasselbeck has not missed a day during the offseason workouts and has really grown with the new offensive scheme, which has a lot more three- and five-step drops. Hasselbeck is also entering the final year of his contract with Seattle.

Good to hear. Now can they keep the opposing defenses foot from being broke off in Hasselbecks ass?
