rotoworld,
The Oakland Tribune's Jerry McDonald confirms that Chaz Schilens' recovery from his second foot surgery in as many offseasons is "ahead of schedule."

Schilens practiced during the Raiders' final round of OTAs. In addition to Schilens' ability to stay healthy, it will be interesting this preseason to monitor his rapport with new quarterback Jason Campbell. Campbell almost never had a physical, possession receiver to target with frequency in Washington. Schilens, who goes 6-foot-4, 225, can be that for Campbell in Oakland.

The bad news is that he plays for Oakland.

Not so fast!

cbssports.com,
WR Chaz Schilens did not re-injure his left foot, according to Raiders head coach Tom Cable, but he is sore and will be limited to one practice per day. Schilens left practice Thursday after getting roughed up. "There's no damage. It's sore," Cable said. "We're probably going to have to deal with this from here on out."

Analysis: If Schilens is going to play with a sore foot all season, then his production might suffer. He's been a sleeper of ours for a while, but we're at the point where teammate Louis Murphy seems like a better late-round flier than Schilens. Thus, keep Schilens off of rosters until he can play regularly and consistently at a high level.

Damn, the football Gods throw me a bone :duckhunt: in the release of the Fat Carcuss and the signing of QB Jason Campbell, then give me a :nutkick: with this news about Chad Schilens and his never ending foot problems. :sadbanana:
