Not alot of thanks last week. Like the Cowboys cant seem to do, lets get back on course
AFC East -
Miami - Glad to see Sparano realize Miami needs to quit throwing the damn ball and get back to running. Good news for Ricky Williams owners, as Ronnie seems to suck no matter the opponent. Green Bay will be the perfect opponent to get back to basics on.
Buffalo - Welcome back to the NFL Fred Jackson. Too bad Donte and the boys gave up 36 points. Evans, Johnson, and Parrish sure isnt Ocho, TO, and Shipley, but hey, at least Buffalo is scoring points again.
NY Jets - Jets keep on running. Jets keep on winning. Great formula. Had Favre not tossed his 67,457th interception of his career it might have gone different, but still this team is a point away from 5-0. Honestly, who right now is going to stop them?
New England - No running game - check. Suddenly frail WR corps - check. Ray Lewis jammed up Bradys ass - probably check. This is the WRONG game to roll out a new old WR and find different roles for everyone.
AFC North -
Pittsburgh - Blitzburgh welcomes back Big Ben, and the NFL welcomes Colt McCoy to the Browns starting lineup. The Steelers will be 4-1 by a wide margin after this Sunday. Interested to see how far Hines Wards numbers bump. Heath Millers too.
Baltimore - The Ravens didnt throttle the Broncos as hard as I thought, and the 1 catch performance by Boldin was discouraging. Still, with no real running game and patchwork WRs the Ravens should win by 10 against the Patriots.
Cincinnati - You guys need to pull your heads out of your ass. There is no excuse for the last two losses. Not one damn excuse. Somebody wake up Ochocinco and remind him he is funnier when he actually catches passes!
Cleveland - I feel sorry for Colt being rolled out to the NFL against the STEELERS of all teams. Still, he wont back down, he will fight to the end, and he will probably get picked off 4 times before going down with a shoulder injury in the 3rd QTR.
AFC South -
Houston - Really screwed the pooch. What should have been a 5-0 team with a commanding lead is 3-2 just like everybody else. Kansas City could win this game unless the Texans show up to play like they did to open the season.
Titans - Beat Dallas. Whoopie, everyone is doing it.
Jacksonville - The Jacksonville Jaquars are 3-2. This means 2 other teams played down to their level of competition. Ill forgive Buffalo, because they suck. Still, this team is somehow in the mix.
AFC West
Kansas City - I was impressed KC held serve against the Colts in last weeks loss. Ill expect them to upset the Houston Texans this week just to prove their worth. Oh, and against the sorry Texans secondary, if there was ever a week to start Cassel, this is it.
San Diego - Once again, if anyone can find new and inventive ways to get beat, the Chargers can. Only SD can give up two blocked punts for scores and a long fumble return for a score in the same season, much less the same game. That career game dont mean much when you lose Malcom.
Denver - "This may be the first game in NFL history where a team kicks off with -20 yards rushing." Well they picked up 39 yards, so I was pretty close. Another day, another 300 yard game for Kyle Orton. He puts up 300 on the Jets I will be impressed. The other question I have is who is Revis going to cover? Who is the real #1 for the Broncos?
Oakland - Had me swinging a small sledgehammer and praying for the Chargers doom. Ill be the first to admit, I love the Raiders. They dont give up, thats for damn sure, and they are entertaining to watch. I will laugh my ass off if they send San Francisco to 0-6.
NFC East
Dallas - Sucks.
Washington - These guys are freakin pesky. They just seem to know how to hang around when they shouldnt and get it done when it counts. With as little buzz as they generate, they could silently win the NFC East.
Philadelphia - Well, you slid by thanks to Alex "Suck" Smith. McCoy grew up running wild while he was hurt. Now, can you slide Kolb by the Falcons?
New York Giants - "Now, lets see you do it against the Texans."
Well, I saw it. I dont know where this team was hiding, but the Giants are suddenly as violent a team as youll find in the league. Maybe beating Cutler into unconciousness was what the doctor ordered. Next up: the Lions.
NFC North
Chicago - I have never seen a game quite like this team played against the Panters. 4 interceptions and you still blow them out. Everyone say "Thank you Mr. Forte". Cutler better be back this week, because Pete Carroll wont get his caught with his pants down like Fox did.
Green Bay - Needs to trade for DWill. Now. Immediately. Could have been the difference vs Washington. Well, that and Greg Jennings pulling his hands out of his ass and start catchting passes!
Minnesota - Favre blew another one. Minnehaha is back, and at 1-3 has a legitimate shot at falling out of playoff contention over the next three weeks, facing Dallas in the "Underachievment Bowl" and then Green Bay and New England in the next two weeks. Rest assured, at 1-6, maybe even 2-5, this season is over.
Detroit - Boy did they kick St Louis's ass. Wow.
NFC South
Tampa Bay - Won a game they shouldnt have. I dont see that happening this week versus what should be a slightly paniced and angry New Orleans team coming off an embarressing loss to Max Hall and the Cardinals.
New Orleans - Ouch! Losing to Max Hall is painful enough, but Brees throwing the pick six to clinch it. The World Champs really need to settle down....and get Bush or Thomas back. Signing Julius Jones is like intentionally making yourself sick, but I guess there was no other choice.
Atlanta - This team just keeps on finding ways to win. Scrappy will get you far guys. This week its vs Philadelphia, and man do I wish I could see Vick vs the Falcons. Oh, and no one gives Roddy White the credit he deserves.
Carolina - I dont know what to say anymore. This is a hell of a way to go through a season though.....lame duck coach, no QB, crappy WRs. Thank God for the bye week huh guys.....
NFC West
San Francisco - Alex Smith must go. Mike Singletary must be given more time. Thats about all you can really say right now at 0-5....other than Jed York is full of crap thinking this team is going to finish 10-1 or 11-0 and win the division. Yeah right.
Seattle - I wonder what team is going to show up this week. Will it be the one that whipped San Francisco, or will it be the one that bent over for the Rams. (No pun intended). Im also hearing Lynch is going to have a major role in this ballgame. We shall see.
Arizona - I talked 9 miles of shit about this team last week, and all they did is go out and beat the the World Champs. Kudos to Max Hall, who got his head shoved up his birdsnest near the end of the 1st half, but stood strong and won the game.
St Louis - Lost to the Lions 44-6. What a galactic meltdown after such a hot start. Funny thought of the week: You could very well see Danny Amendiola, Mardy Gilyard, and Brandon Gibson start this weekend. A far cry from Mark Clayton, Donnie Avery, and Laurent Robinson. Worse yet, San Diego is the opponent, and remember what they did to the Cards after their last embarressment.
Those are my random thoughts for now. Feel free to throw in yours
