In 2010 Steve Smith caught 46 for 554.
In 2011 Santana Moss caught 46 for 584.

Why am I telling you this?

Because in 2011 Steve Smith caught 79 for 1394.
Because without Steve Smith, there's a good chance we're not talking about Cam Newton.
Because without Cam Newton, there's a good chance we're not talking about RG3.

Sure, the Redskins have signed Garcon and Morgan, however this helps him get more favorable coverage.
You can't begin to believe RG3 the rookie will be able to hear their voices over Santana Moss.

History loves to repeat itself.
And Moss will have to break his tongue before RG3 will risk his career on any other player.

What about Davis. Is going to have to have more of a blocking role this year or will RG3's agility free up some screens and shots in the flats
 
This is about the similarities between Smith and Moss when considering Newton and Griffin.

History has a great chance to repeat.

This is what all that money and all those first round picks is all about.

Look! The money is betting Moss and RG3 can pull a Smith and Newton.
the cast isn't exactly the same, but it's similar enough.

And all RG3 need do is the Cam Newton.

I've already pointed out the reason.

History says it won't work, but there's not enough money to prevent Snyder from trying.

I guarantee every one of you here, the first two lines of this thread outline the facts that caused this situation.

If this fails for Snyder, it will be softened by the media light the Redskins will enjoy with only moderate success.

Do you really believe the cream of the NFL teams, worth nearly a B1G Billion in fewer than five years, care if they win the Super Bowl?

no!

They pulled out their Smith & Newton Twenty-Aught Eleven and blasted those that dared trespass upon the house of Carolina Blue, without prejudice.
