Saints WR Robert Meachem

He is another guy I haven't been talking about much since I was drafting in 4 leagues.

Meachem played more with the first team offense than last week, catching two passes for 27 yards in Saturday night's preseason game in Houston, reports the Times-Picayune. Analysis: For the second week in a row, Meachem outperformed incumbent starter Devery Henderson. Slowly, he might be making a push to start alongside Marques Colston in the Saints' high-powered offense. He still remains an intriguing sleeper option in most leagues and, if he were to start, would see an even greater increase in value.

I think eventually it will be Colston, Moore and then Meachem. Henderson has never been able to be consistant. Then, when Colston goes down........Meachem is a target I have had late in drafts just in case.

I don't think many believe Henderson will be the starter given his ADP of around 210. Moore (ADP 66) seems to be the consensus favorite, but I too prefer Meachem (ADP 205) who can be easily picked up much later

I'm with Phic on this one. Colston, Moore, then either Henderson or Meachem vying for the #3 role. Meach has had more than ample opportunities in the past to wrestle a starting gig, but has been chronically plagued by injuries, ineffectiveness, or both.

I'm not drafting Meachem in anything but the deepest of leagues, but I have him atop my FA/Waiver watch list in case he gets a bump up due to an injured starter, which seems likely.

I like Moore a lot better than Meachem, but he's certainly worth watching should Moore or Colston go down.

NO - WR Robert Meachem lines up as a starter opposite Colston

Source: New Orleans Times-Picayune
The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports the Saints lined up WR Robert Meachem as a starter opposite Marques Colston in their game against the Texans.

Some people may have already written off former first-round pick Robert Meachem after a disappointing rookie season, but we say not so fast. Meachem's ADP is WR71 right now, and he's not even getting drafted in some leagues. Keep his name in the back of your head if Lance Moore or Marques Colston continue to struggle with injury. The Saints' passing game is one of the best in the league, and Meachem could start to live up to his draft status.

I am just saying he is worth keeping an eye on. I have gotten him very late in all my drafts. Dynasty leagues he could be had cheaply. Moore has resumed full practice but is not playing in pre-season games yet. Don't allow ADPs to override camp and Game intel. I still am seeing Miles Austin drafted before Patrick Crayton despite the fact that Crayton has won the #2 WR job in Dallas.
