Saints RB Pierre Thomas Signs His Tender

Pierre Thomas signed his one-year, $1.7 million restricted free agent tender with the Saints on Monday, the Associated Press reports. He is far from happy and probably won't be at the voluntary workouts this week. But Thomas owners can breathe a little easier now.

After signing his one-year tender Monday, Pierre Thomas reiterated that he wants a long-term deal from the Saints.

Thomas' agent has informed the team that he will continue to skip voluntary pre-training camp activities, and says P.T. only signed the $1.684 million deal "to preserve options." It remains unlikely that Thomas would hold out of training camp, as doing so would subject him to large daily fines.
