Safety ED Reed and Ravens Talking Contract

Raven's safety Ed Reed has engaged in talks with the Baltimore Ravens on the topic of a possible new contract. After battling neck and hip injuries recently their was some retirement talk. But it sounds now like Reed just wants to play again and his focus is getting back on the field with as little distraction as possible.

Ok, Im a big fan of this guy...but hes BARELY 50% recovered from a big surgery, he is old, and he is close to retirement.

The Ravens could ride him for what they can get in 2010 and with the 2011 season likely cancelled Reed could be retired in 2012.
 
From what I understand he is one wrong hit away from possible paralysis......the guy has been a beast for nearly a decade now, and there is no question as to his devotion to the game and his team....
I would rather he walk away using both feet now, and stop placing the rest of his life on the chopping block.

Team devotion and the love of the game of football (and the money) keeps them coming back for more, i guess all us arm chair athletes will never understand why Ed Reed and others would jeopardize their health and the future when coming off a serious injury.
