Alabama coach Nick Saban didn’t talk much about specifics of the 2010 Crimson Tide football team, other than to remind them that this is 2010. The 2009 national championship season has passed, he said. But he did have something to say about agents.

Though Saban was careful to note that the majority of agents are good men who don’t entice players into breaking rules, he had a name for those who do.

“I hate to say this,” he said, “but how are they [agents who break the rules) any better than a pimp?

Saban is right! Ouch! Did I say that? I'm no fan of Tricky Nicky but Outlaws he hit the nail on the head with his speech. Something has to be done to stop these illegal actions done by a few of these bastardly agents that suck the life out of college players and their programs. I agree, the nfl players association must suspend these wrong doings by these "Pimp" agents. It isn't fair in any way that the player and the program suffers while the agent faces no action what-so-ever. Enough is enough!

This from the guy who spreads his legs open wide for anyone with a bigger paycheck.

Im not saying his message is wrong, I just find it funny coming from the biggest whore in coaching.

You're certainly right about that Sarge. Another point he made was that he'd want to bar agents from campus if something isn't done about them. I think he'd find his quality recruits fleeing his phone calls if he truely did that. Still I'm in total agreement with the jest of what he said. Some agents are slimeballs and they should be punished.

Tit for tat!

Training camps have yet to convene, but already the 2010 college football season has achieved a rhetorical high point. That would be Alabama coach Nick Saban comparing agents to pimps.

Would it be too bold to suggest the addition of some furry trim (no pun intended) around the brim of Saban’s famous straw hat?

Consider what’s required to be a pimp: the cold-bloodedness, the willingness to physically exploit young people you claim to protect, and above all, a love of money. The Mack daddy's is the dollar.

But if agents are pimps, then what of big-time college coaches?
