S. Holmes.... Sell High?

Hello I have S. Holmes on my roster and was wondering if I should seek a trade. (PPR, 6 points for any TD) We start 2 Qbs, 2 Rbs, 2 Wrs, 1 Flex W/R. My Wrs are G. Jennings, Colston, Marshall, S. Holmes, S. Moss and L. Coles. Mr Rbs are K. Smith, R. Rice, K. Moreno, M. Lynch and J. Stewart. I am obviously real deep on Wrs and kinda short on RBs. I want to target a RB. I been trying to package S. Holmes and K. Smith for Rbs like Slaton, Westy, S. Jackson, D. Williams, F. Gore or C. Johnson. Should I trade Holmes and if so who should I target?

He is easily your #3 WR, as marshall cannot be trusted. I would hold onto him, as your backs looks fine for ppr. I like what The Steelers showed in the passing game last night, against one of the leagues better Passing Defenses and overall defenses in general.

If you really want to part ways with Holmes, and it seems like you can afford to, now would be the ideal time to do it. If you're trying to package him and Smith, my vote is for Slaton, I have crazy manlove for him this year.

Agreed. The Steelers pass protection was better than the run blocking last night. I have Holmes as a breakout player this year. I would hold onto him.

Hold what you got. Holmes showed both his trademark speed and his ability to be a possession guy, too.

You have the right idea here, I'd be trying to deal this guy to upgrade my RB situation if I were you.

In any league I've ever been in 2 #2s will not buy you a #1, so if you're serious about landing a bone fide #1 RB you will probably have to rethink your strategy.

If you think that Holmes is suddenly a great WR that has the potential to be a #1 then it has to be YOU that takes that risk. No one is gonna jump on your one game wonder and a #2 RB at the expense of their proven #1.

I would think along the lines of offering Jennings AND a Moreno, JStew or Lynch in order to attract SJax or Williams owners.

K. Smith could very easily out perform some of those on your "wish list" so I wouldn't be in a hurry to deal him.

Santonio Holmes' best friends this year, in order will be:

1. Willie Parker
2. Offensive Line
3. Ben

Unless things change in a hurry, my beloved Steelers' running game will continue to struggle against any team that has an above-average run D. That line is not currently constructed in the same manner that it was throughout the Cowher/Bettis era and Parker's first couple years. Alan Faneca ain't walkin' through that door anytime soon.
To bring things full circle, Holmes and Ward are far more likely to BOTH eclipse 1,000 yards receiving this season than any Pittsburgh RB is of hitting that milestone. Look for Holmes to gradually overtake Ward this year as Ben's most trusted target as well.
In your scenario, I would be praying that Marshall has at least a decent first week and then immediately shop him along with one of your #2 type RB's to achieve your goal. In my world, you already have 2 borderline RB1's with Kevin Smith and Lynch (after week 3), especially in PPR leagues since they're both 3-down type backs. I also think Rice is an extremely solid RB2 for this year. You're in a really good spot with this roster even if you're unable to pull off a deal. Your RB stable is much better than you think.
