Rocky Torain Ahead? Redskins RBs

We knew this time was coming, Clinton Portis is getting healthy again. Torain was doing a good job as a feature back on a couple of squads.

It appears the bye week came at the perfect time for the Washington Redskins' backfield. Clinton Portis (groin) and Ryan Torain (hamstring) were full participants in Monday's practice, which is a good indication they both may play in Week 10.

Ryan Torain may be heading into Rocky Torain or at least muddy waters as far as fantasy value is concerned down the road.

Especially as far as passing downs as portis is badly needed on those plays to keep McNabb upright.

Portis won't play this week and the Davis activation likely means that Torain still isn't 100%. I had read about his raise but not his activation this morning. I hate to read that.

Green Bay attempted to get Davis but he stayed put due to the raise and what he sees as his increasing chances due to the Skins brittle RB's.

Didn't see anything about GB. Wish they had picked him up a couple weeks ago. I did see that Car had made some kind of offer though

Opps, looks like I jumped the gun a bit.

(Rotoworld) Redskins practice squad RB James Davis indicated on Twitter that the Panthers tried to sign him to their active roster Monday, but that Washington blocked the move.
Analysis: Tweeted Davis, "I thought stayin' here could be a good fit plus the Skins took care of me." Teams can increase practice squad salaries in order to "block" players from signing with active rosters elsewhere. It also sounds like Davis is confident he could get a look on Washington's 53-man roster before the season is through. Davis is someone to keep a close eye on with Ryan Torain (hamstring) and Clinton Portis (groin) banged up.

I thought they had to be activated to block a move.

(RotoWire) Davis might be promoted from the Redskins practice squad for Week 10, the Washington Post reports. Analysis: The Redskins have suffered several injuries at the position and in Week 8 were left with one healthy running back. There are also rumors that other teams are interested in plucking him from the 'Skins roster.

cbssports.com,
The Washington Post reports that Redskins RB Clinton Portis had some swelling in his injured groin after practice on Monday.
Analysis: Washington plays on Monday Night Football in Week 10, so Portis has an extra day to try and get himself healthy for the first time since Week 4. This news is certainly not a good sign though, especially after Portis' replacement Ryan Torain was running well on Monday. Continue to stash Portis away in most Fantasy formats until it's clear exactly when he will return to action.

R.Torain will be in the game until the 2min drill when all starters will be sidelined for 2nd & 3rd stringers. :biglaugh:

Shanny is a sandwich short of a picnic these days so i dont trust anything spewing from his pie-hole
