Good point Dawg. I'm just honed in on saying what you mean and meaning what you say. He doesn't have to say they're going to win it all. He chooses to run his mouth. Simply saying they'll attempt to and be competive would be more in line with how others handle the question. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. You have to back up what your piehole spouts out IMO.

I don't agree with Ryan's particular brand of "team motivation". I think that instead of instilling confidence in his team, he's teaching them that ego is the best currency. Unfortunately all he's actually doing is flooding the market with inflated checks that his team won't be able to cash.

Now, Raheem Morris made the statement to the press "We're the best team in the NFC" at a point in the season where we were far from the best but working hard to mitigate the difference. Although these statements sound similar they come off very differently to me because Morris is claiming to the best in the league at a point in the year when there's no evidence to back it up. Timing plays a factor here IMO

The demeanor of the two while making these statements, or claims couldn't been more different. Rex Ryan acts like a childish punk demanding respect , while Raheem comes across as a determined Coach looking for some respect, and instilling confidence in his players.

I have no problem with Rex saying his team is going to win it all next season. If your teams head coach doesnt have the attitude his team can win then you dont really need him.

Now that said, the Jets cant win 3 in a row on the road. Thats been proven. I dont think they have the balls to win the division. So nope, no title.

Rex is putting a bulls eye on the teams back that just makes other teams want to beat them even more. The same way teams try harder against defending champs.

Morris effectively got his team to believe in themselves, elevating their play without pissing people off.
