Redskins driving up the price for the #2 Draft Pick

the delay is the league season has not started yet. Thus those picks and any trades are not available I believe.

I am gonna start a sepperate thread. I want folks to tell me who you think fits well with qbs. I for one don't see washington getting Manning, as I don't think money matters to him, I think winning and good team matters. I wonder if Flynn isn't a better fit or another young Qb like Tannenhill in the draft.:dunno: but I don't see washington being able to do this trade.

I don't know Phic. If I'm StL and Was has the best offer out there, They get the pick. No Question about it. Now, as far as Peyton, not really up on where he might wind up but Was would not be high on my list

RG3 is a better fit with Washington than Manning and like what Phic said, Manning is not concerned about money but at his age wants to win some games and get the the playoffs. In my humble opinion He has a good shot at doing that in Miami next year. As a Miami fan I would rather have Manning next year than what it would cost to get RG3 or to pay Flynn what he wants. If we do end up getting Flynn I will just have to trust what Philbin sees in him.

He does come from a very good tree though JJ, look at all the backups that have come out of GB over the last 15/20 yrs. Brunell, Hassleback, Brooks, Detmer, ... Add Farve and Rodgers to that list and you have to say they are doing something right about training QBs. Any other team even come close to them ??

Though your mention of Brooks choked me up, lol. Really Aaron had a good season and a half and then he became gunshy as hail.

I'm not ready to carry the Matt Flynn torch just yet.

He couldn't beat out Jamarcus Russell (who?) at LSU and only started after Russell left. As a 5th year senior, he had a great 2007 campaign but LSU had no trouble winning the SEC championship game without him.

In the NFL, he's a smallish 7th round pick with average arm strength who is mostly unproven.

He's only played on superior teams thus far and I see no evidence that he can be a difference maker on an average team.

Matt Cassel until proven otherwise.

That Jamarcus who fella you're talking about was a hail of a college QB and pretty much the concensus best QB in the NFL draft that seaon. Most services had him as the number one pick in the draft which he in fact was. What happened to the young man after he hit the left coast shouldn't cloud your or anyone elses opinion of him as a college QB he was a stud. Flynn also played behind another future NFL QB at LSU in the form of Matt Mauck. Few under classmen QB's are going to take the starting job away from two future NFL QB's. When Flynn did finally get to start at LSU he was impressive both throwing and running with the football. In only one seaon as the starter for the Purple & Gold Flynn threw for 3000 yards and 27 TD's the 9th highest over all total in the history of the LSU program. In his career at LSU Flynn completed 235 of 437 passes which ain't exactly weak armed numbers my fine feathered friend coupled with only 14 ints. As you stated he led the Tigers to the 2007 BCS title over Ohio State by a score of 38-24. His career mark as a starter at LSU was 12-2 and as a pro he's undefeated, which isn't bad at all. Flynn is a winner. He has a heart about the size of his home state Texas.

As far as being selected in the 7th round is concerned I wouldn't let that worry you too much. Tom Brady wasn't drafted until round 6 and he turned out okay though it did take an injury for him to see the playing field for the Pats.

maybe Sny will eat the 28 mil PM cap hit and trade for the number one pick and the Colts keep PM.
plus the two first round picks.

it's only 28 mil for the Sny Guy. chump change
