RB Upgrade?

hehehe...heheheh..hehe...
I have Westbrook, R. Brown, T. Jones, Fast Willie and Shonn Green on my squad of RB's. I'd like to upgrade Westy since I missed out on McCoy in the draft and thought about pairing him with Ronnie Brown in a deal like this:

B. Westbrook
R. Brown
for
2010 1st rounder (probably top 5)
2010 2nd rounder
Matt Forte
Kevin Jones
Barret Ruud

Think I'm crazy? I'm not sold on R. Brown's fantasy production and Westy still have good value for this year but in this dynasty league, I see his value dropping significantly after this season.

I think dealing Westbrook is a good idea. Throwing Ronnie into the deal is a little risky.

If the return is a another great young back like Forte and some draft picks, I'd be all for it though.

Just for tickles and grins....

Why do you want to drop one of the most productive Rbs out there, in an offense that will ONLY be more explosive with additions to Oline and such.....

Deal Brown, and deal him now while you can and his value is high...but don't just give away Westbrook. Although...if you get Forte in return you aren't too bad off.

I'm not wanting to "drop" one of the most productive RB's out there. I'm not seeing myself able to take the league this year, I need at least another year or two to put some pieces in place for my veterans that are on the decline. (T Owens, Westy, T Jones, Gonzo). So looking to get younger and more talented at key positions.

Personally, i think you win with that deal. Forte could be the best RB out of that group. Kevin Smith is nothing to laugh at. Although he's nothing special at the moment, hes still productive. I'm not sure how valuable those picks are, but Rudd is a very good LB and his prime is yet to come. The end for Westbrook is on the horizon and Brown although I like is up and down. Go for it.

That deal is awesome for you, IMO. Any time you come out with the best player in the deal (Forte) without giving up more than he's worth is a big win.

Obviously you're in an IDP league, so Ruud is icing on the cake. I think he was top-5 in tackles last year.

I agree with this move, grunt. It would be trading Westy for Forte which is good for you. Rudd is a stud. Hopefully with the new defense he can remain productive. He and Beason are simply the two best MLBs in the NFC South.

*sigh* Not going to happen. Instead I think I might have a shot at acquiring McCoy for my first rounder next year. I guess I'm okay with that...he's just unproven. Hunt and Booker sure didn't pan out.

too bad.

here is the thing with McCoy vs. Hunt or Booker.

first McCoy is a Westbrook clone, solid runner and just as good a reciever out of the back field. Hunt was a big back....who never ran like a big back. Didn't fit the system. Booker is more a scat back....could catch but could not be the everydown type runner.

I have very high hopes for McCoy...as an Eagles fan
