FA Signing: Rams sign Jerious Norwood

(Rotoworld) Rams signed RB Jerious Norwood to a one-year contract. Analysis: The Rams were on the prowl for a scatback to play behind Steven Jackson, initially targeting Darren Sproles and Reggie Bush. Those moves didn't happen, so they'll settle for a 28-year-old coming off a torn right ACL who's likely willing to play for the league minimum. The brittle Norwood just isn't an option to play many snaps if S-Jax goes down. The Falcons' coaches never trusted him on passing downs, and Norwood hasn't been the same player since busting out of the gates for a 6.17 YPC average in his first two seasons.

Brittle is right. SJax better stay healthy!

Horrible horrible signing...

They signed the wrong RB from Atlanta...should have gotten Snelling.

I would have preferred Snelling too. was hoping they got Ronnie Brown but the Eagles got him with another nice signing.

It has a minimum requirement feel to it, hopefully they still make another addition at RB.

i am starting to wonder if Snelling wants too much. Too many great opportunities, and his name is barely mentioned.

An interesting speculation...... I have read a lot about how good a pickup he could be but virtually nothing about any team actually being interested.

The Rams will finalize a deal with free agent Cadillac Williams Wednesday, according to ESPN's Chris Mortensen.

The Rams wisely didn't stop their search for a backup running back when they signed Jerious Norwood Tuesday. While Williams and his bionic knees certainly aren't explosive, he'd be capable of carrying a decent-sized workload if Steven Jackson were to go down. Caddy could also end up spelling Jackson on some third downs, but would barely get any early-down reps as long as S-Jax is healthy.

In two cases, he goes and visits team, and then they go immediately and sign another rb. Don't know if they are using him as negotiation tool, or they find something out that forces a different situation. Happened with Giants and Rams now.

S Jax is now backed up by Norwood and Caddy. Are they going to sign a healthy/non-injury risk running back any time?

My ACL hurts just reading this stuff......

I see exactly where Spag wants this to go. SJax is the 25 touch guy, Caddy backs him up with 10 hard touches a game, and Norwood does some 3rd down, returns, and Reggie Bush stuff. Problem is Caddy wont hold up, then when he breaks youll ruin Norwood.
