Robert Meachem is out until training camp after undergoing surgery to repair torn cartilage on the second toe of his left foot.
Meachem called the injury "just a nick," but he suffered it late last season and experienced recurring pain in the toe early in the offseason program. "It...became aggravated the more he started running on it," coach Sean Payton revealed. "It’s going to set him back. Our goal is to get him back in time for the start of training camp (July 29), the first week or so." Meachem finished as the No. 22 overall fantasy receiver last year, scoring nine touchdowns and catching 45 passes for 722 yards. His 2010 fantasy outlook takes a hit, though it will only be minor if he recovers on schedule.
Why don't these guys have these surgerys in Feb or March? Didn't he run enough in the late winter early spring to realize that he had a problem? Meachem had a good year last year with Moore injured for most of the season now he gets to fall a bit behind.
