Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger's sprained left ankle remained in a walking boot on Wednesday, and backups Charlie Batch and Dennis Dixon are preparing as if they'll play on Monday night in San Francisco. Coach Mike Tomlin maintains Roethlisberger is "day to day" and will be evaluated throughout the week before a decision is made. Tomlin believes Roethlisberger doesn't need to undergo a full practice in order to play against the 49ers.

scary, because it's monday night... however hasn't ben proved time and time again he's just gonna get out there regardless? i dunno how all of this might effect his body long term but wow he has really been playin through some **** this year

Ben is a throwback QB of the days when guys played with injuries more often. Maybe not the smartest thing to do for longevity but it make me root for the guy. I suppose if he plays that takes away the long ball for speedster Wallace.

I'm not too worried about him not showing up to play. I'm also not too worried about his level of play either.

After all he could barely walk to the locker room for an x-ray during the game. Then he returned looking like a peg-legged pirate and still won the game for the Steelers. He has to be in better shape this week then in that game.

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger (ankle) is not expected to practice Friday, Dec. 16, and is aiming to take part in practice Saturday, Dec. 17. Roethlisberger said his ankle currently feels worse than it during the team's Week 14 game. "The second half of that game you were playing off adrenaline, you were playing off emotion," Roethlisberger said. "The next couple days after that I just shook my head because I don't know how - I couldn't have done it; I don't know how I did. It's amazing what adrenaline and wanting to be out there for your guys does."

yea i think i am going to bench Wallace and Brown this week. I need high risk/reward after my opponent had Atlanta Def. So i guess going to roll with D. Thomas and AJ Green.
doesnt feel right having Wallace, Brown, and MJD on my bench during the playoffs but i hope i get it right

I am sorry. But if I am Pittsburgh, no way he plays. Not with that O-line. Nope.

Too much risk, just to stay close to Baltimore. :nono:
