Ok, before the season officially gets started, I would like to see everyone's projections on this player, because frankly, I have been reading around all off-season, and I am just not understanding the projections.
Barring injury (not going to target him as injury prone after one injury), I am seeing this guy as quickly becoming "the running back" in Dallas in very short order this season.
In terms of projections, I am seeing the guy get projected at 600-800 total yards, and 4-5 total td's by the sites I look at.
I am really trying to step back and take my homer glasses off here, but I think we are very likely looking at 1100 and 10 with this guy, with the celiing being potentially much higher.
I guess where I really run into the problem is the continued high projections for Marion Barber. It seems every NFL fan fell in love with this guy due to his hard running, while letting the fact that he has no discipline in his running style go greatly overlooked. During the offseason, it seemed people were really paying attention to the negative aspects of Barber, but now that the cards are on the table, this guy is once again being projected as one of the top running backs in the league. In reality, I think Barber finds himself becoming that change of pace running back again, only this time, it will ultimately be behind two running backs, and losing much of the red zone opportunities that made him valuable.
So, am I on this island by myself? if so, that is ok :nannie:
