Possible Vincent Jackson Trade?

The San Diego Chargers are reportedly speaking with teams who have shown interest in disgruntled receiver Vince Jackson. So far the Seattle Seahawks and Washington Redskins have contacted the Chargers about a possible trade. San Diego's General Manager, AJ Smith, says the team is prepared to play without Jackson if he decides to hold out this season.

(RotoWire) Numerous sources have confirmed that the Chargers spoke with the Seahawks about a potential trade for Jackson earlier this month, and that the star receiver remains available to interested teams, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports. Analysis: The Chargers appear to have soured on Jackson after a pair of DUIs, a pending suspension (of one to four games), and now his current contract holdout. It is not clear what the Bolts would require in return, and no trade appears imminent at the moment, but this is a story that bears watching. One way or another, the Chargers appear ready to move on without Jackson this season.

The Denver Broncos could be interested in acquiring WR Vincent Jackson from the San Diego Chargers, according to Bill Williamson, of ESPN.com. However, it is unlikely the Chargers would trade Jackson to a rival within the AFC West division.

The Broncos could use the WR upgrade. Shanny in Washington sounds very interested as well.

As a Jackson owner I'd prefer to see him playing somewhere but none of those teams mentioned get me as excited as his playing for the Bolts does.

(Rotoworld) Profootballtalk.com reports that at least one team interested in a trade for Vincent Jackson has learned that the Pro Bowler expects to be suspended four games to open the 2010 season.Analysis: With two DUIs as a pro, V-Jax is a multiple offender of the Personal Conduct Policy. Whether or not Jackson is on the Chargers' 2010 roster, it sounds like Legedu Naanee is going to start games to open the season, with Malcom Floyd filling in as the nominal "No. 1 receiver." Craig Davis would be No. 3, and Antonio Gates' targets would also rise. Jackson's trade value will obviously take a hit with this news. He won't be available until Week 5, and would be just one more misstep away from an even lengthier ban.

NFL Suspends Vincent Jackson for Three Games, But... --

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports the NFL has suspended San Diego Chargers WR Vincent Jackson three games for violating the league’s personal conduct policy. Jackson pled guilty in February to DUI, which was his second conviction. The three-game suspension can be reduced upon appeal, but it is uncertain whether Jackson will appeal. Jackson's suspension could be a moot point, however. He has been planning to not report to the Chargers unless he signs a long-term contract extension that nobody believes is forthcoming. If the season begins and Jackson has not reported to the team, then he would be suspended for three games that he wouldn't have played in anyway.

-- Vincent Jackson Working Out with Donovan McNabb --

NFL Network's Steve Wyche reports San Diego Chargers WR Vincent Jackson is currently in Phoenix working out on the same practice field as Washington Redskins QB Donovan McNabb

Im thinking Washington given the fact Snyder doenst care about draft picks, they are in a win now mode, and he spends money like water.

I'm gonna give you a chance to win your million back, Mud. (Shonn Greene bet).

I'll bet you a million v-bucks that you don't make the play-offs this year.

Ralph's Fins and the Cowboys will be back strong, Gangtas made a great trade to get in the thick of things, Slayers have the greatest coach ever and the BP Bears appear unbeatable even before the draft.

Your only hope is that an 8-8 record is capable of winning the weak ass division you are in. (your 8-7-1 last year was worse than 2 teams that didn't make the play-offs).

I'm betting that Chris runs you out of the top spot in the Dirty South and your .500 record won't be enough to score a wild card spot.

Deal?

rotoworld,
The Chargers are not actively shopping Vincent Jackson, nor are they interested in dealing him, multiple league sources tell ESPN's Adam Schefter.

It's possible the Chargers are just trying to play hardball in the media here, but GM A.J. Smith isn't one to mess around and Schefter isn't a guy that gets played. Despite both a three-game suspension and a potentially long holdout looming, the Chargers appear prepared to go down with the ship. We still wouldn't rule out a trade. One of the sides is probably going to cave eventually.
