Plaxico Rumblings

I saw seperate nuggets on ESPN.com, SI.com, and the NY Daily News site regarding destinations for Plax if he avoids penalties from both the "people" and Goodell.

The Jets and Bears were previously known to have inquired about his status, but I also saw the 49ers as a possible suitor.

Anyone else have anything on this? I don't think I'd be enamored having Burress mentoring my goldmine rookie WR if I was Singletary.

I haven't heard anything about this. Of the 3 teams you listed, i would say the Bears need him the most.

It would be interesting if he went to Arizona. Alot of teams could use his skills and would automatically benefit from his production. Jax could really use him.

I'm with Phic on this one. This question is moot. We don't know where any of these teams will be or the position they will be in when Plax gets out. We also don't know what kind of shape (physically and mentaly) Burress will be in when he's released. Best to save the topic till then, IMO.

For the sake of the thread though, I read yesterday that the Bears said they are NOT interested in Burress.

I read the same thing yesterday. GM Angelo said they were not interested. But, due to the legalities of Plax's situation, he said they would "monitor" the situation, as they do with any player.

Anyhow, we need to remember where all this crap started. It was first announced, via a Rosenhaus' Twitter that "two teams were interested in Plaxico". Sure, if I was his agent I would be promoting his ass, too trying to squeeze out a dime before he went to prison, where his ass will be promoted nightly.

No team is stupid enough to enter contract talks until his legal situation is cleared up.
