Pittsburgh Steelers QB Dennis Dixon said he would like to work with the first-team offense during training camp because he believes he is ready to compete for the starting job while QB Ben Roethlisberger is suspended, reports the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review's John Harris. 'Everybody would like to take the first-team reps,' Dixon said. 'Once you get your shot, you want to show that you can get it done. I'm pretty sure there will be a point in time when that happens. It hasn't right now.'
OUR VIEW
Dixon's performance vs. the Ravens last year indicates that he does deserve a shot to beat out Byron Leftwich. He would also be a better fit at QB behind the team's porous line.
