They must think he can be the QB of the future. Would be able to run the Wildcat without telegraphing the play.

So much for my dynasty grab of Henne

Was the wildcat really all that after it was unveiled against New England? meh
even more proof they think he can QB. for real. that was my impression during the Senior Bowl and even more so during the Combine.

nice pics, DD. every team should have a pics thread like this. monster props

I read this a lot, but it just shows that people don't understand how defenses stopped the Wildcat. In a base formation with no defensive backs cheating up, the Wildcat automatically wins because the formation by default outgaps the defense. Teams adjusted for this by bringing up a safety in run support and only got away with it because Brown isn't a great thrower, but any team that does such a thing against White will be giving up a touchdown.

They think it's possible, yes, but in the end their attitude is that when Pennington leaves they'll have two starting-quality QBs.

White last play was a sweet 50 yard bomb to Turner after Sean Smith got caught biting on the play action. Teams will have to respect the pass in normal and Wildcat situations.

I think the smart play for the future is to grab Henne and flex White if your league rules allow it. This season Henne is going to be the third QB.

thanks for that input.
I have Henne penciled in for when Kurt Warner leaves the league, to back up Eli Manning. I thought I heard some good buzz about Chad, maybe I did.
What is your opinion of Henne, seeing as how he is a player of great interest to you. Seems like you're the guy to ask.

and how do you feel about Smooooth Ronnie Brown this year and maybe the next two or three? you gotta believe I'm listening.

Henne led a garbage time drive in Week 2 of last season against the Cards and looked good doing it. His arm isn't quite Marino-like, but it's damn close.

I think he's going to be an excellent QB for Miami, but I also think you're going to see a QBBC in Miami. Not surprising, since Miami kicked off the Pony craze with Ricky and Ronnie.

I think Ronnie's going to break 1,200 yards rushing this year, might even break 2,000 combined. He'll be well passed the 18 month mark and should be in prime form to gash the rest of the East. There isn't a coach in the East that doesn't fear Ronnie Brown and they all know he could make their lives absolutely miserable.

This is what I am looking for when I read about players. I'm looking at the W/W or maybe getting ready for a draft, or even during a draft. Where can I go for good quick info?

On Miami players? Football365 has a good Dolphins section and Phins.com has a newswire that picks up all the beat writer articles and blogs.

Eh, I tend to have my own opinions and they don't really jive with what the majority of Dolphins fans think. 365's opinion pieces tend to be well thought out, which gives me something to consider.

Btw, if you have a chance to snap up the Fins D as a backup, do it. The secondary shell this year is going to be Quarters, so they won't get eaten up by long bombs a whole lot this year.

That's cool, DD. Own your Jones.

Slow, fast clock and physical games on the horizon? Sounds brutal. Sounds familiar. Sounds like a fantasy nightmare.

Yeah, it's going to get nasty. Like I was saying to WesDawg a while ago, the Fins aren't about to give up anything to traditionally physical teams. The coaching staff's mantra has been smart, tough, and aggressive from second one. The schedule is packed full of teams that like to grind it out and I see at least one repeat of the 81 championship game against the Chargers in there.

Seems to me like they're going for thunder and lighting in equal and full measure, which is going to make Miami exciting to watch again.

which is really, hit and/or miss.

Pretty much, yeah. Pennington likes to spread it around a little too much for any receiver to be a consistent start, although we've discussed Ginn and Fasano might be a decent backup TE.
