rotoworld,

Eagles sixth-round RB Charles Scott has already "opened some eyes" with his pass-catching ability during OTAs.

Checking in at 238 pounds, "Chuck the Truck" is the biggest back on the roster. While he may not have much of a role as a rookie, Scott is talented enough to emerge as the long-term thunder to LeSean McCoy's lightning. Not just a short-yardage candidate, Scott also possesses impressive break-away speed for a big back.

I've watched Scott since high school when he played against my wifes son and throughout his LSU career. He can be a load, has lots of speed, and will flat dab run you over. If he stays healthy he'll stick around the NFL for a while.

rotoworld,
Eagles signed sixth-round RB Charles Scott to a four-year, $1.88 million contract.

Scott is already impressing at OTAs and could end up being a steal for the Eagles. The club has struggled miserably in short yardage over the last few seasons, something Scott could help with down the line. But for now, his path to that role is blocked by Mike Bell and possibly Leonard Weaver. He shouldn't have a problem beating out Eldra Buckley for a spot on the roster this year.

rotoworld,
With LeSean McCoy nursing a tweaked ankle, rookie Charles Scott is taking the majority of the second-team reps at tailback.

Mike Bell is taking the starting reps. While Eldra Buckley is also "in the mix," Scott seems to be moving past him on the depth chart. An interesting deep-league Dynasty sleeper, Scott is already the favorite to act as the No. 3 back.

Both McCoy and Bell are a little banged up, bit I think that Scott will remain the #3 guy. No doubt he's talented but McCoy's got better hands and a year in the system over the guy. Still, McCoy owners beware, he will be splitting carries.

JoeBryany,
The Eagles official website reports sixth-round draft pick Charles Scott (LSU) appeared to bump ahead of veteran Eldra Buckley in the spring, and he likely heads into training camp as the No. 3 halfback.

OUR VIEW

Fantasy owners need to remember the name Charles Scott. He's got a nose for the end zone and is a powerful runner who gets stronger as the game goes on. Scott reminds many in the scouting community of former Bengals back Rudi Johnson because of his straight ahead no-nonsense style. Scott is currently behind LeSean McCoy and Mike Bell, but could see an increase in playing time if Bell is injured (again).

cbssports.com,
Eagles offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg said Monday that rookie Charles Scott's move from running back to fullback is underway. “He’s doing a real good job, Mornhinweg said. "I think he’s got the skill and ability to play both fullback and halfback. He’s feeling his way just a little bit right now. He’s thinking just a little bit too much. ... He’s a big, physical man, that has good running skills. He’s a tough guy, strong, good feet, and so I think he’s got a good opportunity here in front of him.”

Analysis: Scott's move to fullback could limit his production over the course of his career, not to mention his spot on the depth chart. He's nothing more than a late-round pick in rookie-only drafts.

He could be that rare FB that gets enough touches to make him a fantasy backup but this sure limits his upside. Still I see it as a okay career move for the young man. Teams need fullbacks and Scott brings a load when he hits you. My step son can attest to that.

This is actually not a bad move for Scott.

Keep in mind that the Philly WCO uses a lot of passes to the Rbs. That includes a solid play selection of passes to the FB. If he has solid blocking skills and can catch, this could be a great shot for the kid. Look at Weaver last year for Philly.
