Estranged Patriots LB Adalius Thomas says his forearm, broken in 2008, still bothers him because the team sent him to a massage therapist instead of a physical therapist. Thomas marks that incident as the "hidden message" telling him he was no longer considered a core player. His situation was exacerbated last summer when he was told he was "not a good pass rusher" and that his role would be changing. Thomas plans on attending mandatory minicamp in June, but the Pats will likely release him before then to avoid the risk of a season-ending injury that would guarantee his contract.
Adalius Thomas bristled at the notion that he would automatically sign with the Jets if he's released later this offseason. "Everyone has me going to the Jets because of Rex Ryan," said Thomas. "I also played for Marvin Lewis, Mike Singletary, Jack Del Rio, Mike Nolan. So why don't they ever include those people in the conversation, those teams? Because that doesn't sell." Thomas will obviously have more than one suitor if he hits the market after the draft.
Missed out on that LineBacker you hoped to get in the draft? Thomas could be a nice Plan B for some team.
