The New England Patriots today released QB Matt Gutierrez and signed former Oakland QB Andrew Walter. Walter is expected to compete with Kevin O'Connell for the #2 job behind Tom Brady.

How much do you hope Brady's knee holds?

Here is the stat line from Andrew Walters 2006 season:

147/276 1677yds 3 TDs 13 INTs and 9 lost fumbles.

Last year he was 22/49 for 204yds and 3 INTs. Fabulous.

This is a smart kid here. I know he'll get somewhere someday soon. Watched him intently with the Raiders last year, guys got an arm and brains. Makes good decisions and was a better QB than Russell. Needs to play for a better organization and he'll do OK.
