rotoworld,
46 percent of Patrick Crayton's catches last season came in the fourth quarter.

Crayton was clutch for the Cowboys, but that's likely not enough for him to keep his roster spot. We already know Crayton is on the trading block even though he's probably more reliable than Roy Williams as a slot receiver.

IMO the Cowboys should dump Roy Williams as he has done nothing to prove he is as good as he thinks he is.

P.Crayton could land with a team in need of a #2 WR and contribute with some solid numbers

rotoworld,

Patrick Crayton's agent, Fred Lyles, said his client will be at all mandatory workouts.

Lyles has been given permission to seek a trade, but teams aren't going to beat down the door for a mediocre slot receiver like Crayton. This situation could very well end with Crayton being released.

P.Crayton will no doubt get picked up if he is released and hits the waiver wire.

Off the top of my head the Raiders need help at WR as do the Steelers, Bills, Browns maybe even the Patriots as a little Wes Welker insurance

Panthers could use another vet receiver that could come in and not step on Steve Smith's toes.

Maybe its me, but I am sick of hearing about Crayton. I mean really folks......is he really worth this much to do? He has had multiple chances to prove himself...and has not. He disappears. He has shining moments........heck he is Donte Stallworth version two.

With Owens out there still....I don't see that many breaking down doors to get Crayton.

Dont you think that if a team wanted T.O it would have happened by now.

rotoworld,

The Dallas Morning News' Todd Archer expects Patrick Crayton to remain on the Cowboys' roster this season.

It's worth pointing out because this is the second time the paper has gone against conventional wisdom on the matter. Crayton isn't going to draw anything of value in a trade, and there's no benefit to releasing the trusty veteran slot receiver.

rotoworld,

The Dolphins were reportedly recently contacted about their potential interest in Patrick Crayton.

It makes sense that the Cowboys would gauge Miami's interest considering the coaching staff's history with Crayton, but the Fins were "noncommittal" when asked about the player. Crayton is a slot receiver with some punt return value. The Dolphins have a better, cheaper version of him in Davone Bess.

Try as they might to be rid of Crayton it appears he'll remain a Cowboy this season.

(KFFL)Dallas Cowboys WR Patrick Crayton says he is not disgruntled or angry with the team, reports Clarence E. Hill Jr., of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Crayton would like to continue his career with the team, but does not know if he is wanted after the Cowboys picked WR Dez Bryant in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft. Crayton believes it is unlikely the team would keep him and his $2 million as the No. 4 or No. 5 wide receiver.

rotoworld,
Disgruntled WR Patrick Crayton has requested his release from the Cowboys.

Crayton believes the Cowboys are only keeping him around as the "insurance guy," only to release him after training camp when it's too late to learn another offense. The Cowboys are "messing with people's careers and people's lives," Crayton explained. Owner Jerry Jones said recently that he still values Crayton and will not be releasing him.

Man this guy could star in any soap opera.

rotoworld,
Updating a previous item, a Cowboys official told NFL Network's Jason LaCanfora that Patrick Crayton will not be released.

It's hard to picture Crayton maintaining a weekly role with the Cowboys, but they seem intent on keeping him around as a fourth receiver. Crayton, of course, wants a chance for more playing time elsewhere. We haven't heard the last of this situation.

rotoworld,
Owner Jerry Jones said Wednesday that the Cowboys have no plans to grant Patrick Crayton's release wish at this time.

"Patrick is a good receiver," said Jones, adding that Crayton "has done everything we asked him to do." Crayton has indicated that he will attend training camp, so the Cowboys will keep him on the roster at least until then.

rotoworld,
Patrick Crayton arrived for the start of Tuesday's OTAs, as expected.

Crayton is already out on the practice field, and beat writer Todd Archer expects him to work as the No. 3 receiver ahead of Dez Bryant. It will be interesting to see how that plays out, as Crayton was convinced the rookie would be handed a big role immediately.

Have had Crayton off and on now for about 3 years. Fantasy wise he does best as a bye week filler when he is the #3 guy in Dallas

rotoworld,
The Dallas Morning News' Todd Archer believes the Cowboys will keep six wide receivers on the roster this year.

Archer has Patrick Crayton penciled in on the final roster, suggesting that he'll be carried all year in a "redshirt" role. Should the Cowboys decide to cut ties with Roy Williams in 2011, Crayton would then move back into the No. 3 role.
