Panthers WR Steve Smith Dinged Up

Steve Smith was carted off the field during Monday's evening practice with an apparent arm injury, Darin Gantt of the Rock Hill Herald reports.

Not much info right now, went to the trainers tent and reporters couldn't tell if they were working on a shoulder or a hand. I'm sure you Outlaws will follow up with some updates.

Another note to make about the Panthers receivers is that Dwayne Jarrett (yeah, him) has been impressing in camp. Listening to the team from camp on Sirius today and the staff was praising him quite a bit for his crisp route running, great hands, and a solid dedication to becoming a better player.

Might finally start living up to potential.

X-Rays were negative, but the shoulder has not yet been fully examined. This just reenforces the likelihood Smith will not play in any pre-season games.

I read this story a couple of hours before annoucing my keeper players today. I wasn't likely to keep Smith for a second round but it sure made it easier to release him and retain Vincent Jackson for a 10 instead in our league.

I think it was a wise decision on your part. Steve Smith, be it injury or attitude, has been off my boards for a few years now.

Oh yes. Of all the current starters in the NFL with the most to fear from the "Class of 2010", I think Delhomme is the most likely to be supplanted.

Latest report says he will be back by start of season. They won't come out and say it is a sepperated shoulder...but it sure sounds like it. MRI has been scheduled...but date not released.

Smith is planted firmly on my board!! Not only do I own him in 1 league already, but I'll pounce all over him should he fall in drafts because of this silly injury.

I remember owners letting Steve Smith dropped last year because of the 2 game suspension. He then went on to rack up over 1400 yards.

You sir are an oak to stand by your man :)

I'll take my chances elsewhere, but then again us DWill owners need him to keep the defenses honest.
