Panthers placed WR David Gettis (knee) on injured reserve, ending his season. Gettis tore his ACL in practice earlier this month. The 2010 sixth-round pick was penciled in as a starter opposite Steve Smith this season, but will now have to prove his health just to have a role in 2012.
