Panthers RB Steward OUT, St Pierre to start at QB

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Brian St. Pierre will play behind a makeshift offensive line, without Carolina's top three running backs and minus the Panthers' No. 3 receiver, when he makes his first NFL start.

Running backs Jonathan Stewart and Tyrell Sutton, receiver Brandon LaFell and left guard Travelle Wharton have joined quarterback Jimmy Clausen in being ruled out of Sunday's game against Baltimore.

St. Pierre, who had been out of the league until he was signed last week, will start ahead of rookie Tony Pike with Clausen sidelined with a concussion.

Mike Goodson is expected to start at running back for Carolina, while Mackenzy Bernadeau will fill in for Wharton.

Linebacker Jon Beason (knee) and defensive end Charles Johnson (hip) are probable after practicing Friday.

This is bullshit. Pike did the best of the three QBs in the only game they all played in, and he has prepared all year, worked in the offense, things like that.

Then you pull the rug on the guy and start someone you signed four practices ago who has been out of the league over a year?

Fox cant go fast enough.
