cbssports.com,

The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports that the Packers will be strongly committed to RB James Starks in 2011. The report says that some in the Green Bay organization "view Starks as a poor man's Adrian Peterson, big enough to run through people and fast enough to take it all the way." The story also adds that Packers running backs coach Edgar Bennett said Starks runs a legitimate 4.4 in the 40-dash, which is impressive for a 218-pound guy. And he'll only get stronger with a year in the weight room. The Packers are expected to have Starks battle Ryan Grant, who was placed on injured reserve after an ankle injury in Week 1 in 2010, for the starting job.

Look out if Starks can win the starting gig next season you'll see him shoot up the draft charts.

cbssports.com,
Starks closed the season as the starter for the Packers after Grant went down in Week 1 with an ankle injury. He shined in the playoffs and should be able to get his share of touches next year while sharing time with Grant. We still expect Grant to be the starter, but Starks is a good handcuff option and worth a late-round pick. Don't be surprised if the Packers rely on Starks during the season based on his play late in 2010 and the idea of keeping Grant fresh as the year goes on. Still, Grant is worth drafting as a low-end No. 2/high-end No. 3 Fantasy RB with a mid-round pick. He's lost value with the injury and the way Starks played last year, but he's still worth drafting based on his expected role in the offense.

Comparing Starks to ADP? Don't think so..........

Starks was a late round pick. ADP was considered one of the most talented backs to come out of college this generation. Injury concerns were the only reason he fell out of the top five. If ADP was on the Packers, I don't think there would be any talk about him "competing" with Ryan Grant.

Too funny..........

Thats a pretty bold statement & comparison from the Packers.

Lets see when R.Grant gets healthy who will be the #1 RB

I dont really see a need to fire him up. He was a good performing back who had an unfortunate injury.

I think it's a stretch to compare this kid to AP after playing only a handful of games last season. I see Grant being the starting back if he is fully healthy.

Well, they are both running backs in the NFC North. After that it gets a little cloudy.

I remember when Sparky Anderson, back in the mid-70's, compared a rookie named Steve Kemp to Mickey Mantle.
