Re: OSU & Tressel could be in bigger trouble

Ohio State athletic director Gene Smith has returned to campus and a news conference has been called for Tuesday night, signs that coach Jim Tressel's job might be in jeopardy after a report that he did not tell his superiors that he was aware of potential NCAA violations involving star quarterback Terrelle Pryor and others.

Ohio State Buckeyes athletic direct will address allegations that coach Jim Tressel knew about NCAA violations months before they were reported - College Football News | FOX Sports on MSN

I take it that you and most other fans hope this doesn't cost him his job Miller? I believe that's how I would feel.

hell no I don't want him to lose his job over this....if it is true, he could be in some deep shit though and at least, hurts his legacy.

They should have banned him from wearing his sweater vests......that would have been more devastating

Just a slap on the wrist. I have no problem with Ohio State, but I really hope the NCAA comes down hard on Tressel for this. He should have known better, and to top it off he knew about this violation and signed off on the compliance document anyway.

I think if the players are doing 5 games, he needs to do 5 games (and thats 5 games with NO contact with the football team or staff, no even being in the offices or on campus). Suspending him for two games against Little Sisters of the Poor is nothing.

That press conference was a joke. I hope the NCAA comes in and adds some more games to that lame 2 game suspension.
