ALBANY - Osi Umenyiora spent the offseason telling everyone who would listen that he wanted, deserved and demanded his starting job back. He even threatened to retire if his wish wasn't granted.
That, however, is old news. Now it appears everything has changed.
In his first interview since Giants training camp opened, Umenyiora, the defensive end, insisted he is disgruntled no more. He not only said will he not retire if the Giants decide he is no longer a starter, but he promised to embrace the role and become "the best bench player ever."
