South Carolina was 1-32 all time against Top 5 teams.
South Carolina was 0-13 at home against Top 5 teams.

Mississippi came in with swagger, confidence, and a #4 national ranking, its highest since the 1970's.
Things change fast these days.

South Carolina rode a suffocating defense and opportunistic offense to a 16-10 upset of #4 Mississippi Thursday night.

South Carolina won despite failing to convert TDs on 3 trips inside the Rebels 20.

Cocks QB Steven Garcia went from maligned to magnificent, throwing for 220 yards and a TD without an interception in leading the Gamecocks.

Jevan Snead looked as uncomfortable as Ole Miss looked out of sync all night long. Snead was just 3/8 for 30 yds in the 1st half, just a scant 7/21 for 109 yds for the game, 45 yards coming on a late TD pass.

Another inexplicable turn of events was the lack of Dexter McCluster when it matters. With the game on the line late, McCluster was not used or out of the game in several key moments. Overall Mississippi was held to just 249 yards overall.

South Carolina has a good shot at knocking in the door of the top 25 as they take on South Carolina State next week.

Mississippi tries to right the ship against Vanderbilt October 3rd.

Thank you. About time somebody else sees the injustice going on with FSU and them keep getting ranked in the top 25. Sure they beat BYU , now this has me thinking is BYU top 25 material, when they can't beat a good team. I didn't see the USF/FSU game but from what i read, it could/should have been a much better beat down by USF. They made some mistakes and missed on some opportunities to score more points. USF, the question now is, are they top 25 worthy? They are 4-0 now but have they played anybody noteworthy ? The top 25 is nothing more than a popularity contest and its the same teams each year no matter how bad they are.

NC i wouldn't call an upset. GT is a good team and should have been favored to win it.
