Ok, a lot going on in this post but bare with me. I have the first overall pick after a nice trade late in the season. I want to upgrade some part of my team in our free-agent pickup and rookie draft. I will list my team below, looking for some thoughts from the peanut gallery.
Standard scoring, 6 pts per TD, 1 pt per 10 yds... TEs are considered WRs.
Starting requirements: 1 QB / 2 RB / 3 WR / 1 PK / 1 DT / 2 DE / 2 LB / 3 CB-S/ 1 DEF
Campbell, Jason WAS QB
Cutler, Jay CHI QB
Hasselbeck, Matt SEA QB
Gore, Frank SFO RB
Moreno, Knowshon DEN RB
Peterson, Adrian MIN RB
Taylor, Chester MIN RB
Wells, Chris ARI RB
Bowe, Dwayne KCC WR
Colston, Marques NOS WR
Jackson, Vincent SDC WR
Owens, Terrell BUF WR
White, Roddy ATL WR
Gates, Antonio SDC TE
Tynes, Lawrence NYG PK
Mebane, Brandon SEA DT
Raji, B.J. GBP DT
Jackson, Lawrence SEA DE
Kiwanuka, Mathias NYG DE
Bulluck, Keith TEN LB
Dumervil, Elvis DEN LB
Howard, Thomas OAK LB
Morrison, Kirk OAK LB
Cox, Derek JAC CB (R)
Joseph, Johnathan CIN CB
Branch, Tyvon OAK S
Colts, Indianapolis IND Def
A couple of thoughts/concerns. I need 1 DEF/ 2 CB-S/ 1 LB/ 2 DE/ 1 PK during the off season. With that in mind, here are some notables that will be up in free-agency.
RBs
Cedric Benson
Kevin Smith
Jerome Harrison
QBs
Eli Manning
Matt Cassel
WRs
Derrick Mason
Donald Driver
CB-S
Charles Woodson
Bernard Pollard
PKs
Gostowski
Feely
Bironas
My plan as of now was to take either Spiller or Bryant with the number one over all. None of the QBs excited me this coming draft and I could use a nice weapon to stash on my bench. A couple of concerns on my team are pretty obvious, lack of a consistent back up QB (Cutler being my starter) another thing that hurts is the amount of talent I have at the RB and WR positions. I have the issue with picking the wrong person... possibly making a trade for a stud IDP player with one of my skill positions? Any comments, questions, concerns are welcomed.
