Ochocinco's Monday Meltdown

CINCINNATI -- Chad Ochocinco is tired of being a sidekick.

When the Cincinnati Bengals signed receiver Terrell Owens at the start of training camp, Ochocinco was content playing "Robin" to T.O's "Batman," saying he was glad to stay in the background to help the team.

Not any longer.

Ochocinco went out of his way to call attention to himself during a 27-21 loss to Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday night, wearing bright gold cleats in a look-at-me gesture that caught everyone's eye. He also vented his frustration as the game went along and he got shut down, exchanging words with quarterback Carson Palmer and coach Marvin Lewis.

Lewis yanked him from the game briefly to help him cool down. Ochocinco finished with only one catch, while Owens had 10 catches and two more touchdowns.

ESPN NFL Chad Ochocinco miffed over rough year

Well its not like eventually this wasnt going to happen.

Watching hockey on VS, I see advertisements for the tocho (sp?) show. Are they getting along for their show on VS?

This team has been 1 of the biggest suprises to me this year. So much talent but just cant seem to get it going and cant work together as a team. This team should be setting offensive records this year instead of most likely missing the playoffs and possibly not even finishing at .500 at years end. Ocho is greater in his mind than on the field and needs to realize that to try to save this season and work towards next year.

I think Owens has helped his value TREMENDOUSLY this year...being the only consistent performer on that WR corps and showing that he just might still have "it".

Thats true, but TO gets alot of his space from working with reliable possession reciever Jordan Shipley on his side of the field.

Still...one has to wonder, if we put even guys like Sam Bradford, Shaun Hill, or Ryan Fitzpatrick at the helm of this offense would they be unstoppable?

I believe they could be better with a mobile quarterback, given the offensive line. Fitzpatrick, probably, Vick, certainly, or even Bruce Gradkowski could keep the offense on the field longer. Not saying unstoppable, but at least less predictable.
